When we started Sunnie, one of our main goals was to ensure that we were doing our part to preserve the planet.  That’s why first and foremost, we are a plant-forward company . We are also focused on making sustainable choices that are good for everyone, and this includes our packaging. All Sunnie snack containers are made of EcoStar post-consumer recycled PET.  Our vision for the future is that we are 100% compostable.

Sustainable Sourcing

We are 100% organic.  Organic farming is widely considered to be a far more sustainable alternative when it comes to food production. The lack of pesticides and wider variety of plants enhances biodiversity and results in better soil quality and reduced pollution from fertilizer and pesticide runoff.  

We source all our fresh produce from local California growers. This includes fresh avocados and blueberries which are sourced weekly.  We believe in supporting our local farmers and making sure that California produce is the star of the show with all our products.

Plant Forward

Eating plants—instead of eating animals who eat plants—cuts out the enormous environmental burden that goes along with animal agriculture.

Packaging

We’ve worked hard to make sure that the items in our packaging is recyclable, but we know that we have room to do better.  We are currently working on testing new packaging that is 100% compostable.  Until then, we are doing what we can to best support our planet.

• Our snack containers are made with EcoStar® post-consumer recycled PET material.  Recycle in your curbside recycling bin.  Or if you’re like us, there are many super helpful ways to use them - from paint pallets to small toy collection, or even as drawer organizers.
• Packaging sleeves can open up for a quick and easy place to draw or write a note. We also see many of our younger customers use them as robot sleeves. 

Delivery + Shipping Materials

Local Delivery Orders

All our local orders are delivered in an insulated tote with a few ice packs. If you are a subscriber and receive regular deliveries from us, you can leave your ice packs and bags up for collection and reuse. 

Shipping Orders

Our products ship chilled, so when your box arrives there will be an insulated cooler bag and multiple ice packs inside.  The cardboard box, insulated liner (internal layer is made of recycled cotton) can both be recycled. Ice packs can be reused again and again!

Food Waste
